National Health Care

This has become a real problem.

First, the Senate to get Nebraska’s vote has exempted Nebraska from having to participate in funding it. We can’t accept this.

Second the proposed plan will promote adverse selection that will crush our whole system.  The plan will eliminate the exclusion of pre-existing conditions by insurers.  This will allow you to get coverage after you get sick.  The tax for not being covered is proposed at $750 per year, which is much less expensive than the cost of coverage.  It’ll be cost effective if you are healthy to just pay the tax, but if you get sick you’ll then apply for coverage since you can’t have your pre-existing condition excluded. Only the sick will opt for insurance hence “adverse selection”, this is a serious problem.
