Carmel Life

I'm taking a little liberty here by posting Bill Koltz comment on Carmel life,

"Carmel was more like Mayberry when we moved from Kessler and Keystone Ave. in 57. Keystone Ave. stopped at Road 100 and did not carry North of Carmel until 1965. Those early days at Cricklewood farm . You could lie down on 234 at the top of the hill just next to where Keystone would run though and be overwhelmed by the vast panorama of stars above. There was no light pollution and the warmth of the pavement heated that day by the summer sun warmed your back.. Race cars, motorcycles, go-carts,mini-bikes, boats, bikes and skateboards. It was the life of Tom Sawyer. Time stood still. The days would never end. It was so much fun. Browns Drug Store counter, Nutts Hardware, Jewetts, Sy Burger, the hobby shop, the Carmel Theatre. I flew everywhere my bike would take me."

Carl:

Exactly how I remembered Carmel when my family moved here from Chicago in 1965.  And I hated it!!!!  Tooo Mayberry for me.  Older now and wishing it still was that same small town and not the traffic headache it is today.  Thanks for the memories to you and Bill
