In Memory

Jane Eno (Ransel)

Jane Ransel

December 03, 1951 - August 28, 2016

In Loving Memory of Jane Ransel

In loving memory of Jane Elizabeth Eno Ransel, a two year survivor of pancreatic cancer.

Jane was born December 3rd, 1951, to Max and Genevieve Eno.

The Eno family lived in northern Illinois until 1952 when they moved to Logansport, Indiana. In 1961, the family moved to Carmel, Indiana, where Jane spent the better part of her life. Jane graduated from Carmel High School in 1970 and attended Indiana State University for several semesters.

Jane was an avid yoga practitioner and longtime member of the Indianapolis Sailing Club. Jane for many years had been a supporter of “24 Hours of Booty”, which is a cancer-fighting nonprofit based in Charlotte, NC.  Jane was an active participant at the 2016 Indianapolis 24 Hours of Booty event at Butler University, where she rode her bicycle and volunteered with funds raised going to the Simon Cancer Center where Jane was being treated for her cancer. Her 24 Hours of Booty and yoga families provided many of the important friends in her life.

Jane was a hardworking and valued employee of SEA, Mid America Computer, Plus4 Architects and most recently at Spohn Associates Inc., all based in Indianapolis. Jane was particularly grateful for the love and support from her colleagues at Spohn as she battled the disease. Special thanks to the Spohn family and employees for being so caring and supportive over the years. Jane enjoyed the happiest days of her working life with you.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, John Ransel; her brothers, Jeffery Eno of Kansas City, Missouri, and John Eno of Greenfield, Indiana; children W. Andrew Ewald and wife Melissa of Greenfield, Indiana, and Scott Ewald and wife Rebecca of Costa Mesa, California; John’s-children Mike Ransel and wife Tiffany of Conifer CO, Susan Lueders and husband Spencer of Charlotte NC, and Matt Ransel and wife Christine of Portland OR; grandchildren  Ellie Ewald; Tyler Roark, Wyatt Johnson, Sydney Ransel, Maddie Ransel, Nate Lueders, Emma Lueders, Adam Lueders, Kennedy Ransel, and Morgan Ransel.

Special thanks to Safi Shahda M.D., and Mary Maxwell at IU Simon Cancer Center.
